"I thought this was great stand up. Well written and well delivered. To be great at stand up you have to be comfortable with yourself, your material and your audience and it felt like Sal is on all three counts. Very funny and solid stuff."

- Elizabeth "Biz" Ellis, judge, Project Breakout

"Sal controls the audience well and presents himself well. His premises aren't ones I've heard before, either, which is nice. The family stuff, particularly, feels personal and that always draws people in."

"a crotchety old man trapped in the body of a dashing young man...Calanni's material about his conservative family is hilarious... keep an eye out for him. He's got plenty of ammo."

"First comedian was Sal Calanni, who was fantastic. I've seen Sal do standup before at the Punch Line (he was great) and his set was even better last night. Great gags about his "hooptie" (Cleveland OH equivalent of a "beater" used car). Very nice "Gayzilla" gags, with the requisite limp wrists. Sal's fantasy of the idea ménage a quarto? Princess Leia, Daisy Duke, and Condoleeza Rice. No sex with Rice, she just tells the other women what to do. Also a top shelf fart joke. Great set. I give Sal's set a rating of 8.0 (1worst-10best), but give him an extra ˝ point for gamely warming up a Thursday night comedy crowd. No small task. Sal Calanni's overall rating = 8.5. Calanni's warming up for Mooney from 4/10-4/13. Go see him."
