To be great at stand up you have to be comfortable with yourself, your material and your audience and it felt like Sal is on all three counts. Very nice "Gayzilla" gags, with the requisite limp wrists. Sal's fantasy of the idea ménage a quarto? Princess Leia, Daisy Duke, and Condoleeza Rice. No sex with Rice, she just tells the other women what to do. Also a top shelf fart joke. Great set. I give Sal's set a rating of 8.0 (1worst-10best), but give him an extra ˝ point for gamely warming up a Thursday night comedy crowd. No small task. Sal Calanni's overall rating = 8.5.
